San Diego State University (SDSU) is a public research university located in San Diego, California. It was founded in 1897 as San Diego Normal School and is now part of the California State University (CSU) system. The university offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees through its seven colleges: Arts and Letters, Business, Education, Engineering, Health and Human Services, Professional Studies and Fine Arts, and Sciences. SDSU has an enrollment of more than 35,000 students, making it one of the largest universities in California. The university is also home to the SDSU Aztecs, a NCAA Division I athletics program.
