Dave Matthews Band, also known by the initials DMB, is an American rock band that was formed in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1991. The band's founding members were singer-songwriter and guitarist Dave Matthews, bassist Stefan Lessard, drummer Carter Beauford, and saxophonist LeRoi Moore, who passed away in 2008. The band's current lineup also includes violinist Boyd Tinsley and guitarist Tim Reynolds.

DMB is known for its unique sound, which blends elements of rock, jazz, folk, and world music. The band's live performances are particularly popular among fans, as they often feature extended improvisational jams and reinterpretations of their own songs.

The band has released several critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums, including "Under the Table and Dreaming" (1994), "Crash" (1996), "Before These Crowded Streets" (1998), and "Big Whiskey & the GrooGrux King" (2009), which was released in honor of the late LeRoi Moore.
