The Nintendo 64, or N64, is a video game console that was released by Nintendo in 1996. It was the company's third home console and the successor to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).
The N64 was the first console to introduce 3D graphics in gaming and introduced several new features, such as the analog joystick and the Rumble Pak, which provided tactile feedback during gameplay. Some of the most popular games for the N64 include Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and GoldenEye 007.
The N64's popularity led to the console selling more than 32 million units worldwide, making it a commercial success for Nintendo. The console's unique hardware architecture made it challenging to emulate on modern devices, leading to a continued interest and demand for original N64 hardware and game cartridges among collectors and gaming enthusiasts.
