"Hellboy II: The Golden Army" is a 2008 American superhero film directed by Guillermo del Toro. It is a sequel to the 2004 film "Hellboy," and is based on the comic book series of the same name by Mike Mignola.

The movie follows the adventures of Hellboy, a demon who fights supernatural threats for the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD). In "Hellboy II: The Golden Army," Hellboy and his team of agents must stop the elf prince Nuada from awakening an ancient army of indestructible mechanical soldiers known as the Golden Army.

The movie features a strong cast, including Ron Perlman as Hellboy, Selma Blair as Liz Sherman, and Doug Jones as Abe Sapien. The film also includes spectacular visual effects and an original score by composer Danny Elfman.

"Hellboy II: The Golden Army" received generally positive reviews from critics and was a box office success, grossing over $160 million worldwide. Despite its commercial success, a third movie in the series was never made, and the franchise was instead rebooted with a new film in 2019.
