Buster Posey is a former catcher for the San Francisco Giants, a Major League Baseball team. Posey was born on March 27, 1987, in Leesburg, Georgia, and played college baseball at Florida State University before being drafted by the Giants in the first round of the 2008 MLB draft.

Posey made his Major League debut with the Giants in 2009 and quickly established himself as one of the best catchers in the league. He won the National League Rookie of the Year Award in 2010 and was a key member of the Giants' World Series championship teams in 2010, 2012, and 2014.

Throughout his career, Posey was known for his defensive skills behind the plate as well as his ability to hit for both average and power. He was a six-time All-Star, a four-time Silver Slugger Award winner, and won the National League Most Valuable Player Award in 2012.

In 2021, after spending his entire career with the Giants, Posey announced his retirement from baseball. Over his 12-year career, he hit .302 with 140 home runs and 673 RBIs in 1,301 games. He also won a Gold Glove Award for his defensive skills in 2016.

Posey was widely regarded as one of the best catchers of his generation and a key contributor to the Giants' success during their championship years.
